Earlier this year, I had the absolute pleasure of working with Sima and her team on a Visual Branding Session and Sima is “the ideal client” in every possible way. As a C-level executive with a vibrant presence and a packed schedule, Sima came to the session with a clear vision for her personal brand. She wanted to create a versatile set of images that would make an impact over the next 9–12 months — and today, I’m excited to take you behind the scenes of her branding experience.

One of the benefits of booking a Visual Branding Session is the extensive planning and creative direction I provide ahead of Photo Day, ensuring everything runs smoothly and strategically. Sima was scheduled to travel immediately after our session, so preparation was key. Her team sent over a mix of current headshots, photos from speaking engagements, and inspiration images that instantly revealed her style — a love of color, commanding confidence, and natural elegance.

We also connected for a detailed Planning Meeting via Zoom — a step in my branding experience that I believe may be just as important as Photo Day. These meetings are more than logistics; it’s like a first date. They allow me to dive a little deeper into my Client’s origin story, values, and goals. I loved learning that Sima began her career as a receptionist and worked her way up over 20 years to become Chief Commercial Officer. Her story speaks to perseverance and leadership — exactly the energy we wanted to capture in her images.

For this session, I partnered up with the amazing Liz Kaiser, whose editorial and runway background made her the perfect hair and make-up stylist for this session. Liz received Sima’s bio and shot list ahead of the session so she could plan multiple looks — from elevated corporate to relaxed and approachable.

When it came to choosing the location, flexibility was a must. That’s one of the many reasons I love working at Coastal Creative Studios in Huntington, NY. The 2,000-square-foot space features beautiful natural light, styled sets, a full hair and makeup station, and a spacious dressing room — everything needed for a high-touch, full-day branding experience.
